He specializes in providing comprehensive advice to high-net-worth individuals – helping business owners, professionals, pre-retirees and retirees manage their wealth, solve financial problems and identify new opportunities.
Russell is an active member of the Canadian Institute of Financial Planners (CIFP) and the Financial Advisors Association of Canada(ADVOCIS), a Certified Financial Professinal (CFP®). Twice in recent years, his branch has been honoured as the IPC Branch of the Year. His past experience includes roles as branch manager for a national trust company, special guest speaker, trainer, and financial and retirement course facilitator for the Edmonton Public School Board’s continuing education program. Reflecting on his successes to date, Russell was selected to be the financial planner for approximately 1,000 head office staff of an international organization.
In the community, Russell is a proud supporter of many charitable organizations, with a special affinity for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Edmonton-based Kid’s Kottage Foundation, which support families in crisis.

Karlyn Elford

Karlyn joined the IPC in September 2020 after competing in national level and collegiate sport, earning a bachelors in Kinesiology and gaining experience in administrative and student support work at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law. She has proven dedication, attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

As an Associate Wealth Advisor, Karlyn is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the business. Now finished with her prerequisites, Karlyn is beginning to work toward her Certified Financial Planning designation to further contribute to the team’s capacity.

In her spare time, Karlyn enjoys spending time with her husband and dog exploring the beautiful trails around the city, often with an ice cream or coffee stop along the way.

Supporting the communities within which we work

 

At IPC, we built IPC Cares to bring together the various efforts we make towards enhancing the communities within which we operate. By adopting causes that are close to our hearts, we keep ourselves committed and accountable.

Last year alone, as a company, we supported the aid efforts on the Fort McMurray fires, palliative care through The Healing Cycle Foundation and women and children through The Salvation Army.

Perhaps the most significant effort we undertake, and one that we believe is representative of the kind of work that inspires and keeps us committed to our Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) efforts, is the community development project in Honduras with The Carpenteros & Friends. Last year’s project involved a group of IPC staff and Advisors volunteering their time and energy on the ground. Very little is as inspiring and rewarding as living the lives of the people you’re helping, and every one of the people who took the journey came back a changed person, even more determined to stay committed to making a difference in the world!

We also made countless small but significant contributions of our time and resources within our communities through many grassroots charities we believe in, and the ripple effects of their efforts are always rewarding.
